Batch rename photos and media files

Select several files and choose a naming pattern. Add your own project, camera, scene and take values with {projekt}, {kamera}, {scene} and {take}. Use {n} for a counter with a custom starting number and minimum digit count. {original} keeps the existing name without its extension. Choose hyphens or underscores, lowercase names, or transliterate German characters.

Review the old and new names before downloading. Duplicate target names block export. The tool then creates an uncompressed ZIP containing renamed copies and a CSV manifest. Processing stays in your browser and leaves the originals untouched. Each batch supports up to 2,000 files and 256 MiB in total.

Frequently asked questions

Does this change my original files or their contents?

No. The tool reads your selected files and creates copies with new names inside a ZIP. File contents remain byte-identical. The CSV maps each original name to its new name.

Which date does {datum} use?

For JPEG files, the tool searches the first MiB for EXIF DateTimeOriginal. It uses the recorded calendar day without a time-zone conversion. If that date is missing or unreadable, it uses file.lastModified in your local time zone. Other file formats also use the modification date. The preview shows the source.

How do I fix duplicate target names?

Add {n} to the pattern or change your field values. The check treats case differences and equivalent Unicode spellings as identical. Preview the names again after making changes. The tool cannot check files already present in the folder where you later extract the ZIP.
