Correct EXIF capture dates in JPEG photos
Was your camera clock an hour behind, or did it record the wrong date? Load multiple JPEG photos and shift their EXIF times by days, hours and minutes. Each field accepts its own plus or minus sign. You can also give every photo an absolute date and optionally keep the original time of day for each date field.
The preview shows the old capture times, the file selection order and the new chronological order. You then create corrected copies and a CSV change log. All photo processing runs locally in your browser without recompressing the images. The tool supports up to 100 files, 50 MiB per file and 200 MiB in total.
Frequently asked questions
Will my original photos and image quality stay unchanged?
Yes. The tool never overwrites an original file. It creates new JPEG copies and changes only the supported EXIF date values. Image data stays byte-for-byte identical, as does the remaining metadata in regular, supported EXIF structures. Photo processing runs locally without sending your files to a server.
Does the tool automatically convert daylight saving time or time zones?
No. It treats EXIF values as camera-clock readings without assuming a time zone. One day equals 24 hours. It handles month boundaries, year boundaries and leap years, but daylight-saving transitions do not add an automatic adjustment. Enter the offset your camera clock needs. Existing time-zone tags stay unchanged.
Which files and EXIF date fields can I change?
The tool supports JPEG files and existing DateTimeOriginal, DateTime and DateTimeDigitized fields. It prefers DateTimeOriginal for capture time, then DateTime and finally DateTimeDigitized. RAW, HEIC and HEIF files are refused. For JPEGs with no EXIF at all, you can explicitly insert a minimal EXIF block and set an absolute date and time. It does not add missing date fields to existing EXIF blocks. Damaged or unsupported structures stay unchanged.
