2. Overview
This website provides free online tools that run entirely in your browser. Data entered into the tools is not sent to our server. Calculations take place locally on your device.
3. Hosting, CDN and security
The website is hosted on servers of STRATO AG, which processes data on our behalf on the basis of a data processing agreement pursuant to Article 28 GDPR.
The website uses Cloudflare services for content delivery and security. Cloudflare may process IP address, browser information, requested URL and access time to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
When the site is accessed, the web server also stores typical server log files (IP address, time of access, requested resource, user agent). The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure operation of the website).
4. Google AdSense
With your consent, this website displays advertising through Google AdSense, a service of Google Ireland Limited. AdSense uses cookies and similar technologies to deliver and measure advertising. The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG. Consent is managed by Google's certified consent message (IAB TCF v2). You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the consent settings.
5. Local storage and offline data
Several tools and site functions store data locally in your browser on your device (localStorage/IndexedDB), for example the selected colour theme, sticky notes, the Kanban board or the service-worker (PWA) cache for offline use. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. The storage is technically necessary for the functions you have requested, so the exception under Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG applies and no separate consent banner is required.
The footer contains a voluntary donation link to PayPal. No data is transmitted to PayPal until you click this link.
5a. Contact form
If you write to us via the contact form, we process the data you provide there (topic, name, e-mail address and the content of your message) solely to process your inquiry. A data protection request submitted in this way ("DSGVO-Anfrage") is handled with priority and the data is then deleted as soon as possible. Otherwise, entries are deleted after a maximum of 12 months. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in processing inquiries).
For protection against spam and misuse, we check submitted forms with a honeypot field, a time check and a simple arithmetic task; only a shortened (hashed) IP address is stored temporarily for rate limiting, not the full IP address. No data is passed on to third parties.
5b. YouTube instructional videos
Some tool pages contain a short instructional video ("How to use") that is hosted on YouTube, a service of Google Ireland Limited. No data is transmitted to YouTube when the page is loaded: the video is only loaded after you explicitly click the play button and is then played through the privacy-enhanced embedding (youtube-nocookie.com). When you play the video, YouTube processes your IP address and, where applicable, a cookie. The legal basis for this transfer is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG, which you give by actively clicking play and may withdraw at any time. 5c. Website analytics (Matomo)
For the statistical evaluation of usage, this website uses the open-source analytics software Matomo, which we operate ourselves on our own hosting (STRATO AG) under the domain studio-tools.online. When the page is opened, a JavaScript code is loaded which transmits the following data to our own server: the IP address, which is shortened (anonymized) before saving, the user agent, the time of the visit, the pages visited and the referrer. The data is stored exclusively on our own server and is not passed on to third parties. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the statistical evaluation and continuous improvement of our offer). 5d. On-device AI models and Desert Ant Labs
Some tools use an on-device AI model that runs entirely in your browser (the contact-data removal tools in “AI-enhanced” mode, and the speech-enhancement tool “Remove Noise”). The text you paste or the audio file you upload is processed locally on your device; it is not transmitted to or stored on our servers. The models (from the provider Desert Ant Labs) are loaded from our own hosting, and parts of the runtime library are loaded from the content delivery network jsdelivr. When one of these models is used, the runtime library transmits a minimal, anonymous usage counter (number of active devices per month) to Desert Ant Labs (desertant.com) solely to verify the free-usage licence. No content, no personal data and no IP addresses are transmitted for this purpose. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in operating the offered functionality under the models’ licence). More on the provider’s models: desertant.com.
6. Usage statistics
For internal improvement, the server stores aggregated usage counts for individual tools (for example, which tool was opened and which button was clicked) with a timestamp. No IP addresses are collected or stored. The data is evaluated exclusively for statistical purposes and is deleted at regular intervals (retention period max. 12 months). The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in improving the offer).
