Shorten silence in audio recordings
Load a local recording and set the level below which the tool detects silence and the minimum length a pause must have. Shorter pauses stay untouched, longer ones are trimmed to a freely chosen remainder. You see every detected pause with start, end and duration and learn how much time is saved in total.
Download the result as MP3 or WAV. Typical uses are podcast edits, voice recordings for video and lecture recordings where thinking pauses break the flow. Processing runs entirely locally in the browser, the audio file is not uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
Which threshold fits my recording?
Start moderate and test: a too sensitive value cuts breaths and quiet reverb, a too strict one leaves dead pauses in place. Listen against the list of detected pauses after the first run and you will quickly see whether the value fits.
Is the audio quality preserved?
The tool works on the decoded audio data and rebuilds the file from the unchanged speech parts. Short remainder pauses keep the speaking rhythm natural instead of rushed.
MP3 or WAV as export?
WAV for further editing in a DAW, MP3 for direct use in podcast and video. The tool produces both formats locally, without upload.
