How it works

The optional filters come in handy when the result list gets long:

• Begins with: only words with a certain start (such as "sch")
• Ends with: only words with a certain ending
• Must contain: letter sequences that have to appear in the word

These filters are useful when some letters are already fixed on the board and you only need to fill the gaps.

Which dictionary?

The tool offers two dictionaries, German and English. The English one is based on the standard Scrabble word lists (TWL/OTCWL and SOWPODS/CSW) used in the common word games. Just switch the language and the search runs against the matching word list. Rather than trying out every conceivable letter order, the tool compares your input with the entries of the word list, so it returns all valid combinations almost instantly.

Everything is calculated locally in your browser. Your letters are not sent to a server, so they stay on your own device.
