How does the word counter work?
You paste your text into the field. The counter splits the text into words, sentences and paragraphs and shows the counts plus the reading and speaking time below. The results update as you type or paste.
What is the difference between characters and characters without spaces?
The character count includes every letter and every space. The characters without spaces omit all spaces. Many forms, social media platforms and databases count only the non-space characters.
How is reading time calculated?
Reading time uses a guideline of about 200 words per minute. This gives an approximate duration in minutes for your text. For speaking time the calculation runs at about 150 words per minute.
What do I need a word counter for?
It helps with text requirements, for example for articles, essays, assignments, blog posts, social media posts or speeches. You quickly know whether your text is long enough or should be shortened.
How are sentences and paragraphs detected?
A sentence ends at a period, question mark or exclamation mark. A paragraph is detected by a blank line. This lets the counter break your text structure down reliably.
Is my text stored anywhere?
No. The counting happens fully inside your browser. Your text is never uploaded, saved or processed further.
