End the Tenancy and Move Out
Moving out comes with paperwork and awkward deadlines. This path writes the notice for your tenancy, records the meter readings for electricity, gas and water, and fills out the handover report. You hand the flat back in a traceable way and end with a signature that makes the final settlement easier. Everything runs locally in your browser.
Your progress is stored only in your own browser (localStorage) and is not transmitted to our servers. Third-party resources (e.g. advertising and analytics from Google/Cloudflare) may transfer data when loaded.
This workflow guides you through the following steps:
- 1. Write the notice Choose 'Tenancy (apartment)' as the contract type. The generator inserts the notice period note under §573c BGB, depending on the length of your tenancy.
- 2. Record the meter readings Enter type, number and reading for electricity, gas and water. The protocol records the shared reading on the handover day.
- 3. Fill out the handover report Note the condition and any damage in each room and have both parties sign the handover at the end.

What you get at the end
A notice with the correct period, a meter reading protocol and a signed handover report, everything you need to hand your flat back.
Why these steps in this order
Notice, then meters, then handover. Deadlines set the date, the meter readings belong to handover day and the signature closes the process.
