FFXIV Name Generator
The FFXIV name generator invents character names in the naming style of Final Fantasy XIV. You pick race and gender, the tool draws fitting first and last names from a large pool and shows them instantly.
Which races are included?
- The races of Eorzea: Hyur, Elezen, Lalafell, Miqo'te (Seekers of the Sun and Keepers of the Moon as separate lists), Roegadyn, Au Ra, Viera and Hrothgar.
- Each race follows the official conventions: doubled syllables for Lalafell, tribal prefixes with an apostrophe for Miqo'te, Norse-sounding compounds for Roegadyn.
- Last names match family names, tribe names or maternal lines depending on the race.
How does the generator work?
In Lore mode, the invented names follow the sound of the official Square Enix naming rules. Famous characters like Y'shtola or G'raha Tia never appear, so your character gets a real original name. The random pick runs entirely in your browser.
What you can use it for
- New characters for Final Fantasy XIV on any server.
- Alt characters, roleplay events and community nights.
- Fan fiction and TTRPG rounds with an Eorzea flavor.
Frequently asked questions
Are these real names from the game?
No, the Lore names are invented following the official naming conventions. Famous characters are deliberately left out, so you get an original name instead of a known NPC name.
Why does Miqo'te have two lists?
Seekers of the Sun carry tribal names with a prefix and apostrophe, Keepers of the Moon follow a matriarchal scheme. Because the two forms differ strongly, there is one list each.
How many names can I generate at once?
By default, you get one name per click. For a list, use the count selector to generate up to 50 names at once.
Is anything stored?
No, the generator runs entirely in your browser. There is no upload and no storage of your selection.
