App Subscription Calculator: add up monthly and annual costs
A monthly plan can look small on a bank statement. Add cloud storage, streaming and an annual package, and subscriptions become a regular budget item. This app subscription calculator adds up the prices you enter and shows a monthly equivalent and yearly cost for each plan. You can compare different billing cycles on the same basis.
How it works
Enter one subscription per line, with its name followed by the price. Use the monthly field for monthly prices and the annual field for annual prices. Formats such as Netflix 12.99, Netflix 12,99 € and Netflix € 12.99 work. These are example amounts, not current provider prices. A price without a name gets the label Subscription followed by its line number.
Add ! at the end of an unused subscription, for example Netflix 12.99 !. Then click Calculate. The table lists every valid entry, with monthly and yearly totals below it. The result counts invalid lines separately for each field and ignores blank lines.
What the tool can and cannot do
A monthly plan contributes twelve payments to the annual cost. An annual plan contributes one twelfth of its price to the monthly equivalent. This spreads the cost for comparison, even if the provider charges the annual amount all at once. The calculation assumes twelve months at unchanged prices. It does not account for months already paid, start dates, trials, cancellation deadlines or price increases.
All amounts are treated as euros. Do not use thousands separators or more than two decimal places. The tool does not convert currencies or retrieve provider prices. Duplicate entries count separately. Displayed rows and totals are rounded to cents, so adding the visible monthly figures may give a slightly different total.
The savings tips list flagged plans for cancellation review and suggest checking annual and family plans. A flag does not subtract a cost or cancel a contract. Whether you can save depends on the plan and its terms. Any shared use must be allowed by the provider.
Why local processing in the browser
Your subscription names can reveal which services you use. No server needs your list to do this calculation. The calculator processes names, prices and flags locally in your browser. It does not send your inputs to providers or save them persistently. After changing a price, click Calculate again.
Frequently asked questions
How do I enter my app subscriptions?
Enter one subscription per line with the price at the end, such as Cloud storage 2.99. Either a comma or a dot can be the decimal separator, and a euro sign can go before or after the price. Use the separate field for annual plans. Negative amounts, thousands separators and more than two decimal places are not supported.
How are the monthly and yearly totals calculated?
The calculator multiplies monthly prices by twelve and adds annual prices. Dividing that yearly total by twelve gives the monthly equivalent. Example prices of 12.99 euros and 10.99 euros per month plus 69 euros per year produce 356.76 euros per year and 29.73 euros per month.
What does the exclamation mark at the end of a line mean?
Use ! to flag an unused subscription. The savings tips list it for cancellation review. Its price stays in the total until you remove the line and calculate again. The tool does not cancel plans or check notice periods.
What happens to blank or invalid lines?
The calculator ignores blank lines. It skips nonempty lines without a readable price and counts them separately for monthly and annual subscriptions. Those lines are missing from the total. Correct them and click Calculate again.
Can I enter dollar prices or mix currencies?
No. Every amount is treated as euros. The calculator does not retrieve exchange rates. Convert foreign prices before entering them and account for any card or currency conversion fees.
Does the calculator show guaranteed savings?
No. It shows your costs and specific checks to make. Compare an annual price with twelve monthly payments and check the commitment. For family plans, compare the total cost and check who is allowed to share. For unused subscriptions, check the notice period first.
Are my data uploaded?
No. The calculator processes your subscription list, prices and flags 100 percent locally in your browser. It does not transmit these inputs to a server or store them persistently.
