Which format suits which image?
For photos, JPEG or WebP is the best choice, while PNG suits screenshots and logos with transparency. WebP usually delivers the smallest files for photos at good quality.
How much file size can I save?
Depending on the subject and source format you can often save 30 to 80 %, without a visible difference. Large photos with many details save the most.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. All calculations run with the Canvas API directly in your browser. Your images are not transmitted to our server and are not stored.
Can I resize the image at the same time?
Yes, enable the option to adjust the width and the aspect ratio is preserved. For the web, 1200 or 1920 pixels is usually enough.
Is the compression lossless?
For JPEG and WebP it is lossy, depending on the quality you choose. In PNG mode the tool works losslessly, but removes unnecessary metadata.
