Remove CSV Duplicates

CSV files often contain duplicate rows caused by typos, multiple exports, or faulty merges. These duplicates waste storage space and distort analyses. This tool removes duplicate rows and keeps only the first occurrence. Everything runs locally in your browser.

How it works

The converter reads the CSV file line by line. For each line, a unique key is computed from the entire row content. If a key has already been seen, the row is skipped. Only the first row with each unique content is kept. Detection is exact character by character, so upper and lower case are distinguished. In the end, a cleaned CSV file without duplicates is produced.

What the tool can and cannot do

The tool removes only exact duplicates. If two rows differ only in upper and lower case or contain different whitespace, they are treated as different. It cannot detect semantic similarity. The file must fit in browser memory. With very large files the process can become slow.

Why local browser processing

Local browser processing means your CSV data never reaches a server. No uploads, no server logs, no third-party access. You need no account. After the page loads, the tool works offline too. There is no server that could be attacked and your data stays on your device. This is especially important with sensitive data like payroll lists or customer information.
